ON-SITE & NEARBY ACTIVITIES

The Experiences

Set amongst regenerating rainforest, orchards and gardens, the Ecolodge is a living landscape to wander, taste and discover.

NATURE WALK

Walks to Nearby National Parks

There are numerous walking tracks in the surrounding National Parks, and many begin directly from the Ecolodge. Choose from three options, including easy one-hour walks up to half- day adventures. A free map of the various walks is available at the Ecolodge office. Take a packed lunch and head off to explore.

FRUIT PICKING & TASTING

Orchard Walk - Garden of Eaten

Take the tropical fruits guidebook and wander amongst the 60 tropical and exotic fruit trees planted at the Ecolodge over the past 20 years. Taste and smell the fruits and nuts that are in season. Guests are warmly welcome to enjoy the orchard.

SUSTAINABILITY & ART

Art Walk in the Orchard Garden

The art of discarded objects. “Flestering” explores how waste can be transformed into creative expression, using discarded
materials found around the property. Wander the walk and reflect on how our behaviour impacts the environment — and how we might rethink our relationship with waste and resources.

“Over 800 trees have been planted by guests since 2003 — many are now taller than the people who planted them.”

OUR COFFEE PROJECT

Coffee Hobby Farm

Three hundred trees, hand-picked & sun-dried mere yards from where they grew.

Get your hands amongst the cherries on our little coffee hobby farm. Pick ripe beans, learn how they are processed, then roast and brew a fresh cup the way it was always meant to taste — a true paddock-to-plunger experience.

UNIQUE DINING EXPERIENCE

Train Carriage Dining

Enjoy your breakfast in our lovingly restored Queensland railway carriage.

Enjoy a self-serve tropical breakfast served on our Train Carriage Deck. Includes fresh local tropical fruit platter, cereals, yogurts, juice, toasts ,boiled eggs and fresh coffee or tea. Book on arrival at reception.

BIRDS & TREES

The Fairy Forest

A sun-dappled woodland trail tucked into the property.

Meander through our regrowth rainforest and creek area located at the rear of the Ecolodge property. The owners and guests have planted hundreds of trees here to regenerate this once weed infested creek area. Discover the different types of native bush foods and nuts available in the rainforest.
