Fantastic spot for a getaway. Chris the owner was so welcoming and kind. The dining cart was a hit with the family! It was great being able to cook your own food and eat in a train carriage. We had the breakfast on the verandah, it was definitely worth it and a must do. So many board games for the family to play, both in the dining carriage and in the games carriage. The fairy bush walk was like a mini busk walk, the kids loved it.
The room was very clean and well presented. We will be back! We will stay in the train carriage next time 🙂

We arrived on a beautiful evening with a lovely greeting from Shayla! She gave us a tour of the facilities, and it was such a charming place in the hinterland of Glass House Mountains. Definitely recommend if you’re wanting a cozy, Aussie mountain experience!

A Little Escape in the Glass House Mountains definitely recommend.

I recently had the pleasure of staying for a complimentary night at the Glass House Mountains Ecolodge, thanks to my beautiful friend Portia and what a special experience it was.

From the moment I arrived, there was such a beautiful atmosphere. It genuinely felt like we had escaped somewhere far away, even though it’s only around 90 minutes from where I live - Brisbane. There’s something about being surrounded by the mountains, trees and wildlife that makes you instantly slow down and switch off.

We were also lucky enough to have met with the owner, Chris, who shared the history of the Ecolodge, the energy and story of the land, and his vision for the future. Hearing about how the property has evolved and the thought that has gone into creating the space made the experience feel so much more meaningful and also very inspiring!

One of the things I really loved was the focus on sustainability and conscious tourism. From rainwater harvesting and water recycling caring for the surrounding environment and the fruit trees, the ecolodge has genuinely incorporated sustainability into the way it operates.

And the accommodation itself is SO unique! There are some really cool options depending on what kind of experience you’re after, including the restored train carriages, a historic Queensland country church with a loft bedroom, bungalows, forest rooms and more. The fact that these historic spaces have been given a new life makes staying there feel completely different from a typical hotel experience.

For me, it was the combination of the nature, history, sustainability, unique accommodation and the feeling of being completely away from everyday life that made the stay so memorable.

It’s one of those places that reminds you that you don’t necessarily have to travel far to feel like you’ve truly escaped.

If you’re looking for a peaceful little escape surrounded by the Glass House Mountains, I’d definitely recommend putting this one on your list. 💚

This not your typical lodge. This got its own rainforest and hobby farm..
The place is full of charming character ! It’s more of an experience than a place to just sleep..
Not for everyone,but for those who wanting something different!!!

We had a wonderful stay, the setting is peaceful and beautiful, making it the perfect place to relax and enjoy the stunning surroundings.

One of the best things about this accommodation is that you can bring your pet when booking directly with the owners, which made our trip even more special. It can be hard to find genuinely pet-friendly accommodation, so this was a huge bonus for us.

The owner was incredibly kind, welcoming, and clearly very passionate about the property and ensuring guests have a great experience. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would happily recommend to anyone looking for a peaceful getaway, especially those wanting to travel with their furry family members.

We had the most wonderful stay at the Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge and couldn't recommend it more highly!!

We stayed in the Queenslander, which had absolutely everything we could have needed for a comfortable and relaxing getaway. One of the highlights of our stay was spending a slow morning wandering through the beautiful grounds, surrounded by abundant nature, birdsong, and over 50 fruit trees. Being able to pick fresh fruit for our breakfast straight from the trees was such a special experience and something we'll remember for a long time.

Coming from the craziness of Brisbane city, this felt like the perfect escape. The peaceful surroundings, the constant chorus of native birds, and the stunning backdrop of the Glass House Mountains created an incredibly calming atmosphere. There was a beautiful sense of being embraced by the mountains and connected to nature, especially being so close to the foothills.

Chris and the team were exceptional hosts. They were warm, accommodating, and generous with their time, going out of their way to show us around the property and share the history of the land, which added so much depth to our stay.

The amenities were excellent, and we especially loved the well-equipped communal spaces and kitchen - these spaces were in old restored trains which added such a unique element to the ecolodge. Everything has been thoughtfully designed so you can truly settle in, slow down, and disconnect from the outside world if that's what you're seeking. The beds were comfortable, the showers were great, and every detail contributed to a relaxing experience.

If you're looking for a peaceful weekend retreat immersed in nature, this place is absolutely perfect. We can't wait to return.

I’m very grateful to have stayed at this hotel. It was absolutely lovely. All the staff were friendly, and we felt very welcomed. The Church room is beautiful and cozy, with a wonderful atmosphere for romantic moments and connecting with nature. We loved spending time in the garden, and the breakfast was lovely as well. We will definitely come back again.

I recently stayed at the Glasshouse Mountains Ecolodge with a group of friends and was so impressed! The gardens were beautiful and lush, with an abundance of fruit trees and a lovely little rainforest walk.

Our host, Chris, gave us a tour and was incredibly passionate and genuine, which made the experience even more special.

We stayed in the church, which was cosy and relaxing, with a fireplace, comfy couch, and plenty of books — it was so easy to switch off and unwind. It also had a kitchenette with a stovetop plus tea and coffee facilities.

The main cooking area was a converted old train carriage that had been turned into a kitchen with tables inside — super unique!

This place is perfect for a girls’ getaway, but also keen to come back with my family.

We had the most amazing girls/Mums getaway at the Glass House Mountains Eco Lodge with a group of 12! The property was so peaceful and quiet — the perfect place to relax, recharge and switch off from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Chris, the owner, was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. One of the highlights was the complimentary tour of the property where Chris shared the history of the local area and the Glass House Mountains, while showing us the different fruit and coffee trees around the lodge.

We loved the cozy fire in our room, the huge communal kitchen fully equipped with everything we needed, and the board games and puzzles that made our nights together even more special. If you’re looking for a relaxing escape to reconnect with nature, this is the perfect place to stay. Highly recommend!
